This GE 2011 opens a new chapter for Singapore. Yes, workers' party winning Aljunied GRC is indeed a Singapore political history and milestone. Low Thia Kiang and his team will be our voice in parliament for the next five years. Thank you workers' party!
This election has further proven that many have stood up for themselves and have sent a strong message to the ruling party. However, there are others who choose to vote for the PAPs and well, they will only have themselves to blame for future hardships.
And lastly, I truly salute and respect Mr Chiam See Tong. A man whose pleasure is the welfare of the people he cares, driven by that he toiled for 27 years, and was hoping to do more, more for his ward, potong pasir. But the ward he so loved, turned him down by mere 114.
I can only imagine his broken heart, his shattered hopes.
I can only imagine the tears he swallowed knowing that they choose the other.
I cannot imagine what the heck those have in thoughts when they put their servant away.
Mr Chiam, although you have lose this election, you have indeed won the hearts and respect of many Singaporeans. You will always be our inspiration!
And for the half of Potong Pasir residents who voted against him, you have indeed made a wrong choice, and I hoped and am confident that you will regret for the next five years!
